Guru Fish Ahoy Cold Pressed Dog Food
At Carefree Canines, we’re selective about the dog foods we stock. We look for products that combine good-quality ingredients with practicality for owners and, most importantly, that dogs genuinely enjoy eating.
Guru has firmly earned its place on our shelves and is now our second best-selling non-raw dog food range. We like the quality of the recipes, the versatility of cold pressed food and the choice it gives customers who are looking for an alternative to traditional extruded kibble.
Fish Ahoy
Fish Ahoy is Guru’s fish-led cold pressed recipe, making it the obvious choice within the range for customers who prefer a fish-based food.
Organic white ocean fish makes up 34% of the recipe, while brown rice provides 30%. In addition, Guru includes sweet potato, peas and broad beans alongside a varied mix of fruit and vegetables.
The recipe contains chicory, carrot, apple, alfalfa, parsnip, pumpkin seeds, blackcurrant, strawberry, cranberry, kale and broccoli. Meanwhile, cold pressed rapeseed and linseed oils provide the added oil sources.
Alongside these ingredients, Fish Ahoy includes seaweed, MOS and FOS prebiotics, glucosamine, green lipped mussels and chondroitin. Guru also adds parsley, rosemary and green tea extract to complete the recipe.Independent Dog Food Review

Food Feeding Guide
Guru Fish Ahoy can be fed dry or softened with warm water. When soaked, it quickly breaks down to a smooth, porridge-like consistency, rather than behaving like traditional dry food, which tends to float in water. This makes it particularly easy to adapt for different dogs and different ways of feeding.
Once softened, Guru can also be spread onto lick mats or used in suitable food enrichment toys, giving you another way to make mealtimes more interesting.
Guru recommends that healthy adult dogs are fed around 1–1.2% of their body weight per day. There is a more detailed feeding guide on the Guru website https://www.gurupetfood.com/feeding-guide for both puppies and adult dogs.
We recommend using any feeding guide as a starting point. As owners, we know our own dogs best, so the amount can then be adjusted to suit your individual dog, taking into account their age, activity level, breed, body condition and lifestyle.
Storage
We recommend storing Guru dog food in a cool dry area. Guru should not be stored in an airtight container.
